Assistant Accountant

We're looking for an Assistant Accountant to join the Accounting & Treasury team. You will be responsible for reporting on all accounts payables for Monoova’s business activities and ensuring financial reports are completed accurately and in time for management meeting and meeting compliance requirements.

In this role, you’ll be:

  • Reporting on all accounts payables for Monoova’s business activities.
  • Supporting entire accounting and treasury team to ensure financial reports are completed accurately and in time for management meeting and meeting compliance requirements.
  • Delivering good service across the organisation that provides efficiency and meets business objectives.
  • Using your knowledge, skills and experience to provide advice on the financial health and cash flow position of Monoova and clients by examining data such as revenue, costs, expenses and profitability through automated financial systems.
  • Account payables daily & weekly processing & payments
  • Daily bank reconciliation
  • Monthly prepayments & accruals bookings
  • Maintaining accounting ledgers by posting accounting transactions
  • Maintaining Vendor master list
  • Setting up beneficiaries for international payments
  • Managing Employee reimbursement and corporate cards transactions reconciliation
  • Resolving accounting discrepancies by investigating documentation; issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments
  • Maintaining financial security by following internal accounting controls
  • Maintaining financial historical records by filing accounting documents
  • Assisting other accountants to prepare the monthly financial reports and quarterly shareholder update
  • Preparing monthly accruals, prepayments & general journal posting
  • Liaising with front office and mid office

What we need from you

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (essential).
  • Demonstrated high levels of attention to detail and ability to check facts accurately (essential).
  • Tech-savvy and ease in picking up new systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively when necessary (essential).
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Honest, reliable and punctual.

Your experience and knowledge

  • A Degree in Commerce with Accounting/Finance Major.
  • Prior proven experience in accounts payable and bank reconciliations.
  • Experience working with an ERP system (NetSuite would be a bonus).
  • Studying towards your CPA or CA Certification would be beneficial.
  • Superior computer literacy with excellent Excel & Word skills (essential).
