What you’ll be doing

This role reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO). This is a critical role in supporting the CRO to enable the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) manage their financial and non-financial risks effectively.

This is a challenging and exciting role, with direct accountability and nowhere to hide.This role will suit someone who believes in Moneytech’s purpose “to enable businesses to succeed” through partnering with the business and support functions implement and embed proactive and effective risk management, mindset, culture and practices in their day to day operations.

To be successful in this role, you will be prepared to work autonomously and/or collaborate with others to contribute to the execution against Moneytech’s strategic objectives.Attention to detail and a high standard of work are essential to be successful.

This role will drive Moneytech’s culture of accountability and Risk / Reward optimisation through ongoing refinement, implementation and embedding of theRisk Management Framework together with supporting risk and compliance policies, frameworks, processes, systems and tools, metrics and governance structures.

To partner with the business and support functions to implement and embed proactive and effective risk management, mindset, culture and practices in their day to day operations.

A typical day would involve:

  • SupportingCRO to develop, implement and embed governance, reporting and oversight of material risks to ELT, Management Risk and Compliance Committee (MRCC), AuditRisk and Compliance Committee (ARCC) and Board (as required), and integration of risk management and compliance considerations in key decision-making to support the organisation’s strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with CRO and ELT to document and communicate the Group Risk ManagementFramework (including the compliance risk management policies, risk appetite, risk culture and behaviours).
  • Support the operationalisation / implementation of the Risk Management Framework across the organisation, which includes: ongoing identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of key exposures and compliance risks, and the management of these key compliance risks.
  • Foster a culture of risk management and compliance awareness and ownership across the organisation

Your experience and knowledge

Although specific skills are preferable, we are open to hear from people with varying backgrounds.

  • At least 5 years’ of relevant compliance experience in financial services, preferably in Line 2 Risk function
  • Experience with dealing with regulators(APRA, AUSTRAC, ASIC, OAIC)
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with operational execution of the Group’s compliance frameworks (governance, oversight, reporting, obligations, assurance and attestation, issue management, breach management)
  • Ability to work with a broad and varied key stakeholders across functions and at all levels of experience
  • Ambitious, self-driven and highly motivated individual who can work well in a small organisation
  • Has attention to detail and works to a high standard
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Curious mind
  • Degree qualified and other professional qualifications preferred
  • Some experience in working in Line 1 Risk would be preferable
