What you’ll be doing

This is a challenging and exciting role, with direct accountability and nowhere to hide. This role will suit someone who believes inMonoova’s purpose “to enable businesses to scale through using our world-class payment solutions to receive, manage and pay funds seamlessly” and will be a collaborative partner to the business to implement and embed proactive and effective Financial Crime Compliance risk management, mindset, culture and practices in their day-to-day operations.

This role will drive Monoova’s culture of accountability and Risk / Reward optimisation through ongoing refinement, implementation and embedding of the Risk Management Framework (inclusive of Financial Crime Compliance) together with supporting risk and compliance policies, frameworks, processes, systems and tools, metrics and governance structures.

In this role, you’ll be:

·       Review and update existing Financial Crime Compliance policies, standards and guidelines(covering Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorism Financing; Anti-Bribery and Corruption; and Sanctions)

·       Develop training, communication, tools and templates to support the Framework

·       Conduct regular financial crime compliance training

·       Support the operation of the MRCC

·       Prepare regular financial crime compliance reporting for ELT, MRCC, ARCC and Board including any recommendations and insights (as relevant)

·       Partner with senior leaders and their teams to identify, assess, manage, monitor and report on our key Financial Crime Compliance obligations (eg assurance and attestation, compliance monitoring plans, issue management, incident / breach management)

·       Provide commercial pragmatic advice to the ELT and their teams on Financial Crime Compliance

·       Keep a breast of emerging Financial Crime Compliance regulatory changes and their potential impacts to the business

·       Develop and foster strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders internally within Risk and Compliance team, ELT and their teams and externally with Auditand Regulators

·       Holding the role Monoova’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer and managing our relationship with AUSTRAC and other relevant regulatory or enforcement bodies

·       Supporting CRO to develop, implement and embed governance, reporting and oversight of financial crime compliance risks to ELT, Management Risk and Compliance Committee (MRCC), Audit Risk and Compliance Committee (ARCC) and Board (as required)

·       Work closely with CRO and ELT to develop, refresh and communicate the Financial Crime Compliance Framework (covering Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Terrorism Financing; Anti-Bribery and Corruption; and Sanctions)

·       Partner with ELT to implement and embed the Financial Crime Compliance Framework(assurance and attestation, reporting of material incidents, issues and breaches, manage relationship with regulators)

·       Ensure that financial crime compliance considerations are included in key decision-making to support the organisation’s strategic objectives

·       Foster a culture of risk management and compliance awareness and ownership across theorganisation

Your experience and knowledge


·       Atleast 5 years’ of relevant financial crime compliance experience in financial services, preferably in Line 2 function

·       Degree qualified and other professional qualifications preferred

·       Some experience in working in Line 1 Risk would be preferable

·       Experience with dealing with Regulators (AUSTRAC, ASIC)

·       Strong analytical skills and experience with operational execution of Financial Crime Compliance Frameworks (governance, oversight, reporting, obligations)

·       Ability to work with a broad and varied key stakeholders across functions and at all levels of experience
