What you’ll be doing

  • We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Accountant, who will,
  • Analyse, evaluate and report on financial matters for Moneytech – FX businesses, products and client’s portfolio.
  • Ensure the financial reports are completed accurately and in a time for necessary meeting and compliance requirements.
  • Deliver good service across the organisation that provides efficiency and meets business objectives.
  • Use their knowledge, skills and experience to provide advice on the financial health of Moneytech FX and clients by examining data such as profitability, budgets and automated financial systems.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Attending to all FX client on-board ensuring the accuracy of daily transaction settlement, monitoring and reconciling internal SSI accounts and clients’ positions on daily basis
  • Liaising daily with other teams in Moneytech on the implementation, monitoring and reporting of all client level management reporting and portfolio reporting as appropriate
  • MeetingCompliance requirements when Regulation changes (tax and legal)
  • Adequately and accurately deliver the monthly/quarterly management accounts, jointly withAccounting and Treasury Team,
  • Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information and system data
  • Supporting managerial planning and commercial decision-making tasks by providing appropriate financial information and undertaking related accounts administration
  • Liaising with external auditors
  • Working on ad-hoc projects assigned by Finance Manager and contribute effectively

Atypical day would involve:

  • Daily bank reconciliation and work with Middle Office to ensure daily FX clients transactions settlements are completed in a timely manner
  • Daily client money reconciliation.
  • Monitoring revenue and cost recognition based on client’s profile in ERP system
  • Liaising with banks and FX business in cash flow & treasury management
  • Perform month-end close processes in derivatives and hedge accounting and subsystems
  • Perform reconciliations of derivatives-related general ledger accounts and positions
  • Resolving accounting discrepancies across all of FX trading and banking platforms(liquidity providers)
  • PreparingBalance Sheet reconciliation and Inter company recharge
  • Preparing monthly accruals and prepayments general journal.
  • Summarise current financial status by collecting information, preparing management reports, profitability reports and monthly reconciliation reports
  • Preparing monthly accurately and real time summary of customer-based financial analysis
  • Working with other team members to assist Finance manager to prepare the monthly financial dashboard, quarterly shareholder update etc.
  • RegulatoryCompliance Reporting (AFSL, Austrac and Clients Money Reporting Rules)

What we need from you

Your experience and knowledge

  • Although specific skills are preferable, we are open to hear from people with varying backgrounds.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • 3 years’ experience and successful track record in accounting/Finance role (essential)
  • 3+years’ experience with ERP accounting software
  • Superior computer literacy with excellent Excel & Word skills (essential)
  • Understanding and experience of Treasury Accounting including foreign exchange, liquidity, cashflow and various Financial Instruments
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail and ability to check facts accurately (essential)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and individually when necessary (essential)
  • Sense of urgency. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Flexible and adaptive.
  • Organisation and attention to detail is essential to this role
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Experience within fintech, high growth tech or high-volume financial services businesses is highly regarded
