Meet the Monoovian

Carl Mascarenas recently celebrated his 1 year anniversary as a Transactions Officer, and is an invaluable and much loved member of the Client Success team. We asked Carl to share a couple things he loves about working at Monoova and some surprising fun facts about himself.

What do you like most about working at Monoova?
I love the work culture. It’s a great mixture of the “work and play”.  We have the best fun together outside of work and we also enjoy collaborating, creating and innovating as a team at work. It really adds to the productivity and trust.

How would you describe Monoovians in 3 words?
Passionate, Driven and Quirky

What does a typical day in the Client Success team looks like?
I start the day off with my go to coffee, a strong 3/4 latte. Around the coffee we work very closely with our clients, we have some really great relationships with them. Monoova have a really diverse client base including among others prop tech, trading and lending. Personally I work largely with money transfer and payment clients such as Nium, Worldremit and Wise; providing support to a number of payment and transfer related enquiries and additional questions that can pop-up day-to-day.

Payments can be quite a dry topic, over the last year what have you learned about payments that has surprised you?
It can be quite dry, but everyone everywhere experiences payments. Whether we’re paying bills, purchasing online or transferring some funds to your mates; it’s a crucial function. Throughout this year, I’m continually surprised how big the payment space really is and how essential it is to provide a safe and efficient way for our clients to process payments.

What is your favourite part of your role?
The connections I’ve made across the Monoova Departments.

Most memorable moment at Monoova?
Coordinating  Monoova’s “PayTo” launch event earlier

Favourite way to spend a day off?
Going to my favourite beach to swim, tan and then head off to have an amazing feed!

Best piece of advice you have ever been given?
“Leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less”

Two Truths and a Lie
