Monoova appoints Bianca Bates as CEO as Christian Westerlind Wigstrom steps down

Monoova’s Cofounder Christian Westerlind Wigstrom is stepping down as CEO. Over the past 9.5 years, Christian has led the growth of what was initially Moneytech Payments into the leading account-to-account payment services company in Australia.
Having processed close to $200bn in payments since Christian joined, Monoova currently transacts with more than 10% of all Australians across a growing number of verticals, ranging from high-growth fintechs such as HNRY to listed businesses such as Carsales.
Under Christian’s leadership, Monoova has won multiple awards, including Fintech Organisation of the Year, and built strong relationships within the financial-services ecosystem.
Bianca Bates will commence as Monoova CEO on the 1st of July.
Bianca brings 25+ years of experience across payments, fintech and financial services with a track record of growth and value creation at scale. She is currently Chief Customer Officer at ASX-listed Smartgroup and previously spent 10 years at Cuscal including as Deputy CEO and Chief Client Officer, Bianca’s background combines deep payments and regulatory expertise with strong risk management discipline in both Executive and Board roles.
Christian will support Monoova through the transition phase and continue advising our Chair, Robert Bell, who is stepping in as Interim CEO until Bianca commences on 1st July. We thank Christian for his critical contributions and leadership over the past decade and look forward to welcoming Bianca to Monoova.
